A content managment system (cms) in simple terms gives you the ability to update the content on your site whenever you want. This could include text, images, adding new pages or removing expired content.

When we discuss a website build with clients it's important to assertain whether a CMS is required. If your sites not likely to change that often then a CMS might not be for you. It is also possible to have certian sections of your site with CMS control, for example you might only want the ability to be able to update the news section.
